Karting Genk
26 juni 2023 @ 18:00 - 21:00
| GratisDear members,
We would like to organize a go-karting event with the staff association. However, we won’t be racing on a simple indoor track but on the professional Genk karting circuit. This circuit hosts world championship races, so it doesn’t get much more professional than this. We will be driving automatic karts on this 1.6km long circuit, which can reach speeds of 90 km/h. Of course, all participants will receive safety instructions beforehand. It’s worth mentioning that up to 40 karts can race simultaneously, allowing a maximum of 80 people to participate in this event. In previous karting events, it was common for the karts to be used like bumper cars, but it goes without saying that this behavior is absolutely not acceptable now.
The format of the event is 10 minutes of qualifying and a 20-minute race. In case we have more than 40 people, we will divide them into two groups. The race will then consist of a B final and an A final, with the qualification times determining the group allocation. Here’s the schedule:
6:00 PM – Arrival and registration
6:30 PM – Briefing
7:00 PM – Start of Qualifying Session 10′ GROUP A
7:10 PM – End of Qualifying Session GROUP A
7:20 PM – Start of Qualifying Session GROUP B
7:30 PM – End of Qualifying Session GROUP B
7:40 PM – Start of Final GROUP 40-80
8:00 PM – End of Final GROUP 40-80
8:10 PM – Start of Final GROUP 1-40
8:30 PM – End of Final GROUP 1-40
8:40 PM – Prize ceremony
The cost for this event is quite high, so we will need to ask for a contribution from each participant. The exact amount will be determined once we know how many people are joining. If we have 80 participants, the contribution will be €40 per person.
All of this will take place on Monday, June 26th! Tickets will be purchased through our website, where they will be listed as free (due to issues with the website’s payment system). After the registration period (which ends on May 31st), an email will be sent with payment instructions for this event.
Food and drinks will not be included in the event this time.
If you have any questions, please contact Alexander Prevoo.
